Hunterhorn Bakery

This strip mall is full of interesting eats – including the Hunterhorn Bakery which has a devote local following, serving up fresh breads, vietnamese subs, baking, pastries and cakes. Unfortunately no egg tarts here, but I tried a classic coconut bun and bun stuffed with red bean paste.  A golden baked bun that is slightly…

Late Night Bubbletea Run

With guests visiting, we thought we would treat them to some late night dessert. This bubble tea location was packed (mid-week) right before closing. So much so, they were no longer seating (not the friendliest service).  With fresh fruit, smoothies, slushies, milk teas, and an array of bubbly/jelly options, everyone got to customize their drink….

Milestones – Market Mall NW

Great location for a birthday dinner with friends. They accommodated our group, the service was great and the meal tasted great. I tried the Ginger Beef – and was pleasantly surprised that it was not deep fried. A tangy ginger sauce, lots of veggies and a stir fried beef made for a guilt free indulgence.

ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen

Great location for lunch hour cooking classes! Learn and eat on the fly. We had a beautiful Japanese inspired menu prepared & everything was was incredible from appetizer to dessert! Hopefully I can **attempt** to replicate this at home.

Chili Pepper – Tasty Hakka!

Hakka offers a range of spicy Indo-Asian fusion cuisine.  Extra emphasis on SPICY….hence the name of the restaurant! The dumpling appetizers were great for a group! We really enjoyed the black pepper beef with onions too. So many items on this menu that I would LOVE to try, but not enough time 🙁 It will…

Ambrosia Veggie House

Being adjacent to the monastery, I made the mistake of entering through the wrong door and disturbing a monk. DON’T DO THIS AND READ THE SIGNS. It’s worth the effort and avoids disturbing any meditation happening next door. Yes, that was a FAIL. I really, really, love the food here. The restaurant is bright and…

Gachi – Pinterest worthy fusion

Met a group of friends here for brunch and wow were all the plates pretty! Fusion flavours of East meets West were fun and flavourful and made particularly interesting in BRUNCH form. I will be going back.

Wok Box – Creekside

Who doesn’t enjoy eating noodles out of a cute take out box? It’s like opening a gift! I ordered a small Dan Dan (spicy) with chicken for about $8 and green onion cake as a side ($4.50).  In my opinion, there could be a bit more protein, but really it’s about the Asian (Chinese, Thai,…
