Mina’s Brazilian Steakhouse

Wow was the steak good. Kale salad with pickled pink bits was a crisp light start. Love the ambience and best of all the staff – as they were incredibly accommodating of my food restrictions and super friendly! Kinda want to go back just to buy their in house hot sauce and to try regular…

Seniore’s Pizza

Mid-week pizza is always such a treat. Navigating through the thralls of pizza joints in the city – particularly the burbs for a good spot is always a challenge. Look no further as Seniore’s – with a loyal patron base, serves up delicious pies to the NW. We enjoyed their special as well as the…

Olly’s Shawarma Counter

My co-worker swears by the shawarma here – I believe it is run by a separate business only over the lunch hour, and possibly only certain days of the week. Line up early as they sell out just about every time! I had the beef donair and was possibly the best I’ve tried. An awesome…

El Charrito Taqueria

Have a hankering for late night eats? Don’t want to default to McDonald’s? There are options! Such as Charrito Mexican Taqueria.  No frills here,  with a cafeteria look, this restaurant strictly sticks to serving up authentic Mexican. Sit in to catch some football on tv, but your best bet is for takeout. …Tacos are cheaper…

Rolled Ice Cream – a Sweet Treat!

So apparently this is a popular street food in Thailand – where fixins are cut up and cream is super-cooled in front of you to make for sheets of ice cream. These sheets are then “rolled up” and topped with…mmm more cream. Yum. I really enjoyed Sweet Tooth and appreciate seeing new businesses in Chinatown…

Bon-Ga Korean

This is a gem in Chinatown! Bento box lunch special was HUGE with #kfc, beef rib, BBQ beef, pork, a bowl of miso and more! The sides of radish and sesame sprouts lightened up the meal as well. Enjoyed the k-pop background music too. It is a bit hidden in Chinatown, but worth the small…

Shawarma Knight

Great location and open late (midnight)! I really enjoy the shawarma & donair here. There are booths to eat in as well. I went for the chicken and beef platter & it was huge! The hummus delicious & pickled beets great too. Staff are really friendly. Apparently not so busy on VALENTINE’S DAY. The hubby…

Milestones – Market Mall NW

Great location for a birthday dinner with friends. They accommodated our group, the service was great and the meal tasted great. I tried the Ginger Beef – and was pleasantly surprised that it was not deep fried. A tangy ginger sauce, lots of veggies and a stir fried beef made for a guilt free indulgence.

Samosa Factory – Westwinds

This place is incredibly popular and is my go-to samosa catering option for large parties. And if you have guests that are gluten-intolerant, go with a couple pounds of the pakoras (chick pea batter, onion, veg fritters). The hubby prefers the medium beef samosas (12 med for $10) and I enjoy the potato/veg (20 med…

Marina Dosa – Yes I go here ALOT.

Dosa….again. It’s a staple for me, and when it is this inexpensive, why attempt to make it (a sub-par version nonetheless) at home? They even have takeout dosa for FIVE DOLLARS. Not sure how they manage that as the packaging alone costs something! All that aside, I love the portions, tasty masala potato stuffing and…
